Florina (Malus Domestica)

Origin: France

History: Bred by INRA at Angers, France, from a complex lineage that includes a scab-resistant seedling. Introduced in 1977 and marketed as Querina, it has been planted commercially in France.

Fruit Description: Red-blushed skin with pale yellow flesh; firm, crunchy, and juicy. Primarily sweet with low acidity (about 11–12° Brix), showing mild tang and cider-like, spicy aromatics, the mouthfeel is dense and fine-grained, sometimes slightly coarse. Suitable for fresh eating and cooking, and it keeps well.
